Bringing a Town Together in Crewe

Every place has its own story. The challenge is finding the right way to tell it.

When we began working with Crewe BID, it was clear there was a lot to be proud of. The town already had a strong community, ambitious businesses and a clear plan through its new Business Improvement District. What it needed was the right campaign to launch its new public-facing brand, Discover Crewe, and to bring people on board.

Having worked with several other BIDs across the North West in recent years, we’ve seen how the right communications can transform how people feel about their town. That experience shaped our approach in Crewe, making sure everything we developed was grounded in collaboration, authenticity and local pride.

We created the Say Hello to Crewe campaign as the first major piece of activity under the Discover Crewe banner. Its message was simple – reconnect with where you live, rediscover what’s on your doorstep and celebrate the people and businesses that make the town unique.

The results spoke for themselves. The campaign reached more than 200,000 people online and attracted over 2,000 followers in its first nine weeks. Discover Crewe on Sea brought 1,500 visitors into the town centre, and coverage across local, regional and national media helped to shine a positive light on the town.

The best part has been seeing how businesses and residents have responded. There’s now a stronger sense of collaboration, shared pride and connection across the town centre, Nantwich Road and Grand Junction Retail Park.

This project has been about helping a place find its voice and giving the people behind it a platform to be heard. Crewe has plenty to shout about, and we’re proud to have played a part in helping it say hello to a new chapter.
