This Valentine’s weekend, Delifonseca Dockside, the award-winning venue located at Brunswick Dock, is turning up the heat with its Aphrodisiac Menu, available on Friday, February 14th, and Saturday, February 15th.
Forget the usual Valentine’s fare – this £53 per person menu is all about bold flavours, a touch of romance and just the right ingredients to spice things up.
The foodie experience will begin from 6pm with a Pinkster raspberry and hibiscus champagne cocktail, and guests can also add oysters with oriental ginger dressing as an extra – packed with zinc and said to boost pleasure and set the mood for just £9.50.
For starters, diners can choose from drunken clams with chilli chorizo and crusty garlic bread, a fresh watermelon and feta salad, or baked figs wrapped in Parma ham and blue cheese. There’s also the option to share a baked camembert with hot honey and crusty bread.
Main courses include seared tuna with jewelled pomegranate and pistachio couscous, duck breast with sour cherry and cinnamon sauce and fondant potatoes, wild mushroom stuffed chicken supreme with madeira and truffled sauce and asparagus, and 10oz ribeye steak with tellichelli, long peppers and oloroso sherry sauce with beef dripping potatoes. There’s also ‘Marry Me’ Chickpeas – creamy sun blushed tomato and garlic sauce with wild rice, perfect for vegetarians who want to join the fun.
To finish, the Sharing Chocolate Fondue is sure to satisfy, with fresh fruit, pistachio blondies and marshmallows for dipping.
Candice Fonseca, proprietor of Delifonseca, said: “Valentine’s doesn’t have to follow the same old script. The Aphrodisiac Menu is about offering something a little different, full of flavour and just a bit cheeky. It’s all about having fun with food and making the evening memorable for everyone.”
Diners will also receive a glossary of aphrodisiac ingredients, giving them a fun way to learn about the science behind the food they’re enjoying. The Food Lovers Weekend will also feature a variety of Valentine’s treats in the deli, perfect for anyone who wants to take the fun home or in need of a gift for their better half.
Candice added: “We’re offering a Valentine’s experience that goes beyond the usual dinner for two. It’s about shaking things up – good food, good company and a night that feels a little more exciting.”
