Crewe is bringing the seaside back to the town centre this August Bank Holiday as Discover Crewe-on-Sea returns for three days of free family fun.

Taking place on Saturday, August 29th, Sunday, August 30th and Monday, August 31st, the free event will once again bring real sand, deckchairs and a packed programme of entertainment to Lyceum Square.

Open from 11am until 4pm each day, Discover Crewe-on-Sea offers families the chance to enjoy a taste of the British seaside without leaving town.

Delivered by Crewe Town Council in partnership with Crewe BID and supported by Mornflake, Discover Crewe-on-Sea forms part of the Council’s Summer Festival of Fun, a programme of free activities and events taking place across Crewe throughout the school summer holidays. Discover Crewe, funded by Crewe’s Business Improvement District (BID), celebrates the people, places and businesses that make Crewe special, and will be the first port of call for all the information about how to enjoy the weekend.

Rose Horner, Crewe BID Manager, said: “Discover Crewe-on-Sea is a great example of how Crewe BID invests in initiatives that encourage more people to visit the town centre and support local businesses. It’s become one of the highlights of the summer, and we’re proud to be working alongside our partners once again to welcome families back for another fantastic Bank Holiday weekend.”

Families can enjoy face painting from Pixie Jen, children’s craft activities with Creative Crewe (Saturday, 11am-3pm), live music from local DJ Catch92 throughout the weekend and a spectacular bubble show from Cosmic Faerie on Bank Holiday Monday. Walkabout performances from the Giant Seagulls, The Lifesaver and The Van Dunk Brothers will also bring plenty of fun and seaside surprises to Lyceum Square across the weekend.

Councillor Stuart Mackay, Mayor of Crewe, said: “Crewe Day 2026 was a fantastic celebration of our town and its people. The response from residents, community groups and visitors was incredible and we are delighted to build on that momentum with our Summer Festival of Fun and the return of Discover Crewe-on-Sea.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to support our town centre, create lasting memories for families and provide free, accessible entertainment for all.”

Discover Crewe-on-Sea is one of a number of events taking place as part of Crewe Town Council’s Summer Festival of Fun, giving residents and visitors more opportunities to enjoy free activities, spend time in the town centre and support local businesses throughout the summer.

James Lea, Managing Director at Mornflake, said: “As a Crewe-based business, we’re proud to support Discover Crewe-on-Sea as the Activity Sponsor. Events like this provide opportunities for families to come together and enjoy something different. It’s fantastic to help bring these experiences to life for the local community.”

Entry to Discover Crewe-on-Sea is free. The event takes place from 11am until 4pm on Saturday, August 29th, Sunday, August 30th and Monday, August 31st in Lyceum Square.
